Tammy
Grimes, Artist and Founder of Dogs Deserve Better,
Debuts New Piece Seeking to Raise Standards of Care for Man's Best
Friend.
Tipton,
PA, January 8, 2007—Tammy Grimes, artist and founder of Dogs
Deserve Better, has released her latest work entitled "Love
Is...A Day without Chains" in honor of Have a Heart for
Chained Dogs Week, February 7-14. "Love
Is...A Day without Chains" seeks to raise the consciousness
of what is acceptable in our society and how we care for Man's Best
Friend.
Grimes,
who will stand jury trial in spring 2007 for her efforts to save
a dying chained dog, stands firm in her belief that each of
us must be held responsible for taking care of our companions. When
that responsibility is taken lightly or dismissed, America's pets
are the ones who suffer and die.
"We
are all caretakers on this earth. It is unacceptable to me that
anyone, man or woman, would leave a dog to die on the ground for
three days and not be held responsible for that action or inaction.
'Love
Is...A Day without Chains' puts forth the belief that a day
will come when every life will be valued. We've made dogs our companions;
now we must take responsibility for giving them the lives they need
and deserve."
Grimes
holds a B.A. in Visual Art and Design from the University of Maryland,
and a B.A. in Naturology from AIHT. She is currently pursuing a
Master's in Naturology from AIHT, as well as working as an artist
and Executive Director of Dogs Deserve Better.
